Bridging the gap between strategy and execution with lean portfolio management

An Independent Public Charity Organization

In 2022, we began a 15-month journey to bridge the gap between strategy and execution by implementing LPM. We redefined key roles and responsibilities that fed into key portfolio management processes, implemented an objective prioritization methodology and incorporated prioritization into a quarterly cadence. We redefined the intake process and created a mechanism to measure flow through the portfolio.

All of this was achieved while also executing a change management strategy to make the change stick. This work led to a 9% improvement in portfolio performance and a decrease of work in progress by 22% (so far).
